Being the hottest month of the year, July may seem like an unusual time to have a Southern wedding. But for avid sports fans, Ann and Matt, it’s the perfect time to avoid scheduling conflicts with college football, basketball, and play-off games. Their mutual love for sports is the reason why Ann’s sister arranged for the pair to meet. Both attended universities with orange as a collegiate color (Clemson & UVA). This vibrant hue offered a pop of color to accent fresh neutrals of ivory, white, khaki, and gold. These colors inspired the summer mix bouquets designed by Tiger Lily, which included roses, peonies, gerber daisies, craspedia, and pincushion protea. These vivid floral creations paired well with Ann’s ivory Modern Trousseau gown and the bridesmaids’ locally designed dresses by Lula Kate.
After marrying at the historic Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Ann and Matt celebrated with friends and family at The Mills House Hotel in the heart of downtown Charleston. Revving up the party was the Electric Company – a creative entertainment group that included a DJ, drummer, go-go dancer, and a breakdancer. Along with their creative mix of music, EC sets the mood with a multi-color light setup and costumes. After hitting the dance floor and a few costume changes, the couple departed in a vintage Rolls Royce, a surprise departure arranged by Ann’s parents. Congratulations to Ann & Matt!
