This is one of the best times of year to be at Magnolia Plantation. Azaleas, wisteria, and honey suckles are just a few of the blooms blossoming. Such colorful and abundant flora makes for a majestic backdrop for a destination elopement. Ashley and Tom have been together for over eight years and wanted a picturesque yet simple wedding day.
Their engagement began with a sunset proposal at the Grand Canyon. They eventually had engagement portraits taken in Boston, the city in which they originally met at Ashley’s 21st birthday. I always ask how comfortable each couple is with being photographed. I loved Ashley’s response, “We just recently had engagement photos taken during the coldest day of the year in Boston. We managed for 3 hours in the freezing cold so now we are ready for anything.” Working with an adventurous couple always makes for lovely images. Drastically unlike their engagement session in Boston, their wedding day was sunny and in the 80s with high humidity. But the heat didn’t stop us from wandering around Magnolia Plantation for over 2-hours. These are some of my favorites from their elopement. Congratulations Ashley and Tom!
