This intimate fall wedding features a blush and neutrals color palette with glamourous touches of sequins and feathers reminiscent of the 1920s. The gents donned traditional black tuxedos, including Edree and Mike’s son – Tyler. The couple were wed in front of close friends and family in the gazebo at White Point Gardens. Guests used SCOOP to taxi to Magnolias restaurant for an elegant seated dinner.
The couple met in November 2007 at a flag football game. Shortly after their 5 year anniversary, they learned Tyler would be coming along to make them a family. A few months later Edree and Mike were in Charleston visiting relatives. Mike planned a special day to pamper Edree with some clothes shopping and an elegant night out. They dined at Hank’s Seafood restaurant. Edree details Mike’s proposal, “We were halfway through dinner, and Mike starts asking me how I am feeling, and if I am excited about the stuff going on in our life, and our baby on the way, and I say of course and go on and on. He then starts to stand up, pulls the ring out and says, “Are you going to be excited about this?” and puts the ring on the table! And starts to walk around the table towards me. While he is walking towards me, I start shrieking and shaking and excitedly laughing. I start asking a whole bunch of excited questions really fast like ‘Oh my god!!!…. Is this for real?!!!’ Mike then gets down on one knee and, says ‘Edree I love you very much, will you marry me?!’ Of course I said yes and was shaking and hug and kissed him!” Those in the restaurant started clapping and the waiter brought them complimentary champagne toast and dessert. With November being a significant month for the couple already, they decided to make it their wedding month as well and wanted to exchange vows in the beautiful city they got engaged.
