Janel and Byron are high school sweethearts that started dating their junior year of high school. Janel describes that time in their relationship: “He was involved with basketball and I was his cheerleader. We are still rooting each other on today!” After graduation, the couple supported each other in their professional pursuits. Janel went on to receive a B.A. in Biology and is now a physicians assistant while Byron is with the USAF. Byron proposed on Christmas day in 2012 shortly before a deployment to S. Korea. The holiday began without Janel receiving a gift from him. Though she was a little disappointed, she kept it to herself. Later that afternoon as they were preparing to head to his parents house, Byron appeared with a small gift and told Janel, “I cannot leave for Korea without knowing that you will be my wife. Will you marry me?” Needless to say her answer was yes.
The couple wanted a modern rustic wedding with rich colors. Pops of purple, teal and gold paired well with a neutral of tan. Several centerpiece designs incorporated this fusion of styles. One centerpiece included a tan chevron runner topped with a clear tall vase with branches and hanging candles. A sweet treat of cupcakes finished a buffet styles dinner of grilled salmon or chicken. Between wining and dining, everyone was hitting the dance floor including Janel’s sorority sisters who gathered to sing their sorority song. Congrautlations Janel and Byron!
