This Pittsburgh based couple met through mutual friends at their work – American Eagle’s corporate office. Adventure, travel and sports are passions they share. Though both are avid Pittsburgh Penguins hockey fans, they are rivals in football. She – a Cincinnati Bengals gal; he – a Pittsburgh Steelers man. Gary proposed the day before the couple left for a vacation in Punta Cana. Before heading to dinner, the pair detoured to a viewing platform that overlooks the Pittsburgh skyline. With the city they fell in love in as a backdrop, he proposed to Jessi. Their love story began in the Steel City and would be celebrated with a summer soiree in the Holy City.
This ethereal wedding takes place at the historic Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. The design collaboration between Intrigue Design & Events and the sweet couple created a romantic Southern destination wedding. An all-white floral design featuring calla lilies, hydrangea, gyp, and chrysanthemum by Pretty Petals. Accents included warm hues of neutral blush, taupe and gold tones accompanied by touches of teal. This classic color palette was designed around the idea of creating an airy and whimsical backdrop. Other vintage design elements are personal touches from the bride and groom. These included natural wood, lace, and handcrafted chalkboard frames for the table numbers, ring bearer’s sign, and grandparents’ memory table.
Guests were greeted with refreshing cucumber infused water and sweet tea with mint beverages while they awaited the entrance of the beautiful bride. During the wedding ceremony the couple incorporated The Oathing Stone tradition. It is believed that holding the stone during the reading of the vows casts them into the stone forever which is nothing short of pure-romance. After the ceremony the guest were asked to join the newlyweds for the cocktail festivities. This is where friends and family enjoyed an outdoor lounge set and cigar bar, and made some fun snapshots in the pop-up custom photo booth located on a dock next to the Ashley River. During the reception guest enjoyed an amazing entree selection of Grilled Filet Mignon, Pan Seared Grouper, or a Pecan Encrusted Chicken Breast provided by Good Food Catering. In addition to their gourmet cuisine, each guest received a custom handle mason jars filled with candied pecans as a gift from the bride and groom. DJ Stephen of Ecklipse Productions mixed eclectic sounds to move the celebration to the dance floor. After a day filled with magical moments, the couple departed through an arch of sparklers.
